Planning a Donation Drive

We appreciate your interest in leading a Donation Drive in your community to collect new books and new pajamas for children in need. A Donation Drive can be held by any type of organization, including a school, church, office, library, playgroup, or another community club or group. To help the drive go smoothly, we’ve put together some tips and materials to get you started in leading a drive.

Before you get started:
  • Designate a Tuck-In Leader — This will help you keep the planning organized and provide a clear point of contact. If there are other volunteers who are eager to do more, assign them to help with specific tasks, such as setting up a booth at an event, hanging posters or making a donation box.
  • Make It Your Own — With a wide variety of organizations conducting drives, we don’t expect that every one will be the same. Take the ideas that work for your group, leave the ones that don’t, and feel free to experiment and add your organization’s own touch to your drive.
  • Have a Question About Planning a Drive? — We’ll try to point you in the right direction or help you however we can. Just send us an email at greattuckin@gmail.com.
Materials for your drive:
  • Posters and Flyers — Inform your community about your Donation Drive with these posters and flyers. There’s room for you to write in your event’s date, time, location and contact.
  • Donation Box — A designated container will help in the collection of new books and new PJs.
  • Printables and Activities — If your drive will include the participation of preschoolers, we have themed crafts and coloring pages you can incorporate into an event, including a Decorate Your Own Pajamas coloring activity.
  • Donation Stickers — Thank those who participate by handing out special stickers at the event. They can be printed on any laser printer using standard labels (Avery 5163 white labels) available at most office supply stores.
Once your donation drive has ended:
  • Mail In Donations (PDF) — Send in the new books and new pajamas you collected, along with this donation form, to the address shown on the form. You can also send personal checks to this address; be sure the checks are made payable to the “Pajama Program” and that you write “The Great Sprout Tuck-In” on the memo line.
  • Donate Online — If your organization is making a monetary donation using a credit card, you can send funds securely through this link to our partners at the Pajama Program.
  • Tell Us About Your Drive — We’d love to hear about your organization’s Donation Drive. Send us a photo and tell us about your drive. You can see what others have shared on the Our Success page.
One more thing:

Thank you — From the bottom of our heart, we’d like to thank you for leading a Donation Drive in support of The Great Sprout Tuck-In. Because of your organization’s efforts, many children in need will have good nights!
