“HOORAY FOR MOTHER’S DAY” WEEKEND CELEBRATION ONLY ON PBS KIDS SPROUT MAY 12-13

Celebration of moms and motherhood features viewers’ homemade cards, messages for moms submitted at SproutOnline.com and mom-themed programming

Philadelphia, PA - May 2, 2007 - PBS KIDS Sprout (SproutOnline.com), the first and only 24-hour preschool destination available on TV, on demand and online for kids ages 2-5 and their parents and caregivers, celebrates moms and motherhood with "Hooray For Mother's Day!," two separate three-hour hosted blocks of mom-themed programming that will air on May 12 and 13 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. ET.  Featuring preschoolers' homemade Mother's Day cards, each block will also showcase messages for moms in a continuous on-air scroll.    

Hosted segments throughout each three-hour block will feature Kevin, Sprout's Birthday 
Show host, reading viewer-submitted Mother's Day cards, making crafts, sharing thoughts from the on-air scroll, and introducing mom-themed episodes of Sprout viewer favorites such as Berenstain Bears®, Angelina Ballerina™ and Pingu™.  Kevin will even make his own mom a special Mother's Day card.  Additionally, live-action video featuring real moms talking about motherhood will air throughout the block.  Everyone's favorite flat friend, Sprout's Mr. Mailman, will be delivering viewer-submitted Mother's Day cards to Kevin all weekend long. 

Preschoolers and their parents can log onto SproutOnline.com to see a special Mother's Day card craft and get tips on how to make their own Mother's Day cards.  Starting May 1, viewers can begin submitting messages that will appear on the on-air scroll on May 12 and 13.
