Philadelphia, PA - June 22, 2010 - Sprout, the first 24-hour
preschool destination
available on TV, on demand and online for kids ages 2-5 and
their parents and
caregivers, launches a summer full of classic bedtime
storytelling and preschool
adventure with the premiere of two new Sprout exclusives: Nina's
Little Fables on
Monday, June 28 at 7:15 p.m. ET and Chloe's Closet on Monday,
July 12 at 5:45 p.m. ET.
In association with HIT Entertainment and Smartoonz, Sprout
brings classic bedtime
stories back to modern-day bedtime routines with Nina's Little
Fables. Narrated by two
of Sprout's most beloved characters, The Good Night Show hosts
Nina and Star, Nina's
Little Fables will air each night at 7:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. ET
beginning June 28 during
The Good Night Show bedtime block. A collection of some of
the most treasured Aesop's
Fables, children and their parents can share timeless tales such
as The Tortoise and The
Hare, The Lion and The Mouse and The Fox and The Stork.
The series includes 26 classic
fables adapted for young audiences, illustrated in black and
white shadow puppetry
animation complete with graphic storybook page turning.
"The Good Night Show is one of our most popular original
programs that parents use as a
tool to help wind down their preschoolers and establish a
bedtime routine," said Andrew
Beecham, senior vice president of programming for Sprout.
"The addition of the classic
children's tales from Nina's Little Fables is sure to be the
perfect complement to what
is already a favorite family night-time routine."
Chloe's Closet is making its U.S. debut only on Sprout,
beginning Monday, July 12 during
The Sprout Sharing Show at 5:45 p.m. ET. Chloe's Closet
follows the fun-filled
adventures of an adorable, imaginative little girl named Chloe
who discovers magical new
worlds while playing dress-up in her closet. With each new
costume Chloe tries on, she
is swept up in a fantastical journey with her best friend and
constant companion, her
security blanket named Lovely Carrot. Chloe's experiences also
encourage the audience to
celebrate how delightful it is to be a little kid embarking upon
a fabulously fun and
fearless, anything-can-happen journey. The show is produced in
3D CGI and flash
animation by Mike Young Productions UK and Moonscoop.
"Chloe is based on my granddaughter Chloe and her wonderful
imaginative play," said Mike
Young, executive producer. "A sequined shawl can make her
into an Arabian Princess and
a cardboard box can provide a trip around the world, and yet
she's always back in time
for lunch."
