Philadelphia, PA - August 16, 2011 - 24-hour preschool
television channel Sprout is celebrating Food Week with a special
appearance by Iron Chef Jose Garces, for a "Sunshine Chef" cook-off
against Chica the Chicken on Tuesday, August 23 during Sprout's The
Sunny Side Up Show, which airs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
ET. Filming for the kitchen showdown took place at JG
Domestic, one of Garces' newest restaurants. The Sunny
Side Up Show host Liz served as Iron Chef chairman and moderator
for the event. During the showdown, Chef Chica and Chef
Garces worked with the secret ingredient - cheese - and created
fun, delicious recipes.
After the cook-off, winner Chef Garces, who had a little help
from some familiar judges (his daughter Olivia, 9 and son Andres,
4) received The Good Egg Award in recognition of him cooking
delicious food and displaying good sportsmanship. Chica's
fun, preschool-friendly dish that parents and their preschoolers
can easily recreate at home will also be available at www.SproutOnline.com.
Additionally, The Sunny Side Up Show will be celebrating Food
Week all week long with cooking inspired crafts, games, activities
and more.
