Sean Roach
Host of The Sunny Side Up Show and Noodle and Doodle / PBS KIDS Sprout
Sean Roach is host of The Sunny Side Up
Show and Noodle and Doodle on Sprout,
the first 24-hour preschool destination available on TV, on demand
and online for kids ages 2-5 and their parents and caregivers.
Along with his Sunny Side Up Show co-host, Chica
the Chicken, Sean interacts live with preschoolers and their
families across the country, as he shares daily birthday greetings,
viewer-submitted crafts, fun facts and weekly themes ranging from
colors, numbers and letters to manners, gardening and pets. Airing
everyday from 9 a.m. - noon ET, The Sunny Side Up
Show is television's only live show for preschoolers.
On Noodle and Doodle (airing weekend mornings
at 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. ET), Sean and his friends Noodle, a
loveable puppet who likes to help in the kitchen, and Doodle, a
virtual, electronic friend, lead real preschoolers and viewers at
home to make all kinds of nutritional recipes and kid-friendly
crafts that families can create together using materials from
around the home. All of the cooking and crafting takes place inside
a whimsical double-decker bus where Sean and his helpers
demonstrate step-by-step "how to" creations in an engaging, simple
way that families can easily recreate.
A 34-year-old actor originally from Lansdale, PA, Sean had his
first acting role in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and
has performed in over 40 productions since 2001. Sean's passion for
acting comes from his enjoyment of connecting with people and
working creatively with a team.
Sean attended the Tyler School of Art with a BFA in painting. As
an accomplished scenic artist he has worked with many notable
companies like The Wilma Theater, Proof Productions and Busch
Gardens. Sean is also actively involved in the theater community
and is currently a member of the award-winning improvisational
comedy troupe, Comedy Sportz.
Sean lives in the Philadelphia area with his wife and son, and
his interests include fine art painting, and traveling.
