Sugar Cookie Ingredients

·       3 cups flour

·       1¾ cups sugar

·       2 eggs

·       1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter (room temperature)

·       ½ tsp. vanilla extract

·       ½ tsp. salt

 ·       1 tsp. baking powder


Simple Vanilla Frosting Ingredients

·       2 cups confectioner’s sugar

·       4 tbsp. unsalted butter (room temperature)

·       ½ tsp. vanilla extract

·       2 tbsp. whole or 2% milk


·       Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

·       Mix together flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.

·       In a separate bowl, mix together sugar, eggs, butter and vanilla extract using an electric mixer on low.  Gradually add in the dry ingredient mixture.

·       On a lightly floured cutting board, roll out a thin (¼”) sheet of cookie dough.  Use your cookie cutter to cut out your horse shape.

·       Transfer cookies to a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes depending on your oven.

·       Once your cookies are cooled, mix together your frosting ingredients in a bowl.

·       Separate in to two separate bowls.  In one, adding beige food coloring.  In the other, add dark brown or black food coloring.

·       Frost your horse’s body with the beige/tan food coloring.

·       Using an icing bag, pipe dark brown/black icing on to your horse to make hoofs, reins and a mane!
