• Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix together flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together together sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla extract and lemon using an electric mixer on low.  Gradually add in the dry ingredient mixture.
  • On a lightly floured cutting board, roll out a thin (¼”) sheet of cookie dough.  Use your cookie cutter to make the desired shape – a butterfly, princess crown, hearts or stars.
  • Transfer cookies to a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes depending on your oven.
  • Once your cookies are cooled, mix together your frosting ingredients in a bowl, adding food coloring if desired.
  • Frost, pipe and decorate your cookies to your liking! 



Lemon Sugar Cookies

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1¾ cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted  butter (room temperature)
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tbsp. lemon zest, plus 2 tbsps. lemon juice

Simple Vanilla Frosting

  • 2 cups confectioner’s sugar
  • 4 tbsp. unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp. whole or 2% milk
