Supplies:
- 1 yellow baseball cap
- 2 small black bottle lids (from an oil bottle)
- Yellow index card or cardstock
- 1 yellow cloth or yellow napkin
- Baking paper
- Glue stick
- Scissors
Instructions:
- Tear up the baking paper into small giraffe patches.
- Using a glue stick, glue the patches all over the cap.
- To create the ears, cut two triangles from the cloth or napkin. Fold each in half.
- Push the triangles through the 'holes' in the baseball cap. One triangle through each side of the cap. You may find it easier to use the end of a pen to help push it through.
- Turn the cap over and pull the corners through slightly. Turn the cap back around and shape into ears.
- Glue the two black bottle tops to the front of the cap for eyes.
- Cut two small rectangles from the yellow cloth or cardstock to make the giraffe's horns.
- Glue a small circle of baking paper to the top of each horn.
- Fold the bottom of the rectangles slightly and glue these folds to the top of the cap. Let dry.
- Wear your giraffe animal cap with pride!
Make an elephant cap instead:
- Cover two paper plates in aluminium foil.
- Cover a cardboard tube (from roll of paper towels) in aluminium foil.
- Glue two small black lids inside two larger white lids.
- Glue the white lids to the front of a gray cap.
- Bend the top of the covered cardboard tube and stick this to the peak of the cap using tape.
- Bend the side of the covered paper plates and stick these to the side of the baseball cap using tape.
- Your elephant cap is now ready to wear!
